If You Really Knew Me...

I've decided to jump on the "If You Really Knew Me" train.

I figured you guys sit at home and wonder more about me, so I thought I would help you out...

Hahahaha... yeah right!

Anyway... back to me talking about myself... as usual.

If YOU Really Knew ME...
You would know that...

* I am absolutely TERRIFIED of sharks. I've never seen the movie Jaws, purely for that reason. Plus they have parts of Martha's Vineyard on there... and I can NOT associate the two of them together.

* Speaking of Martha's Vineyard... I've been there every year since I was born. My grandmother was from there so we are so lucky & blessed to have a place to go visit there.

* I've kissed a Sea Lion. And no, it wasn't good. There was no second smooch!

* I'm afraid to be outside, alone, in the dark. I always assume that there is some serial killer that is out there waiting to get me. I will work myself into a panic trying to get back to "safety" which usually involves me running like hell while continuously scanning my surroundings.

* Mary Poppins is my all time favorite movie. I can recite every single line and every single song. I spent a Summer in Ireland watching at least once a day. And sometimes, I still sneak and watch it when no one is home.

* Despite what I say or how I act, things get to me a lot more than they seem. I may act like I have it all together, but you can probably bet that I've cried to my mom or Big A about it.

* I get bloody noses... bad... regularly. It's pretty ridiculous. And embarrassing. But I'm not considered an issue because they only last about 20-25 minutes... and not over 30 min. I have been getting them since my brother's 21st birthday...for whatever reason I went 18 years without ever getting one, but THAT was the day they started.

* I am MADLY in love with lobster. It's one of my favorite foods. But I despise lobster rolls. Mayo creeps me out.

* I haven't always been so put together. I went down a pretty self-destructive path before I met Big A. It is funny how everyone talks about how much I chilled him out, but the truth is that he did the same to me too.

* I hate hate hate HATE to lose. I am SO competitive and it seriously takes every fiber of my being not to throw a temper tantrum when I lose. Or cheat. I ALWAYS want to cheat, but I don't. I've ALWAYS been this way. I have to remind myself that I am an adult and not a child.

Hmm... I think that's about it. Anything else... feel free to ask. I'm a pretty open book.

Thanks to N who definitely helped me out with this one. You don't know how hard it is to actually describe yourself until you go and do it!

Happy Tuesday Lovers!!!

Color Run Recap

Saturday was the Color Run in New England. I have to say, the novelty of this race had kinda worn off by the time the day arrived.

I don't know if it is because of everything else that's going on, but I found myself not wanting to go. At all!

Luckily, a friend of mine, Ma-Rizzle, was going and talked me into it. Sooo... I went.

We all woke up at the ass crack of dawn and drove over an hour out to where the Color Run was.

Then we took some BEFORE pictures... (I apologize for the 8 million random pics. I tried putting them in a collage, but Picasa was being sucktastic and it wouldn't work right)

Ma-Rizzle and I. Gangsta.

All of us before the race!

There was over 11,000 people there!

Woah People!

We pushed our way up to the start line. We were in the second wave.

Looking clean!

We didn't take ourselves too seriously. There was too many people to actually run it without bumping and dodging. So we walked. I know. Lazy.

Don't worry, we ran every time we saw a photographer. Heh.

And after...

So STRONG for finishing a 5K!

A little more colorful.

This was about half way through. Oops. Bad order of pics! Haha

I think Ma-Rizzle got the best color! Although, she was attacked by the douche at the blue station.

Damn it feels good to be a gangster.

We rewarded ourselves with some delicious food and of course, beer.

We had fun. We did it. I don't think I would ever do it again, but I am glad that I went through with it.

The only thing that SUCKED was that there were 3 accidents on the highway near where we were. So the shuttle buses got stuck and we had to wait in the beating sun for two hours to get on the shuttle bus to go home. They tried to get us to go back into the park and have fun, but then the line would have been SOOOO much longer.

I mean... 11,000 people. Ridic.

But, they did the best they could I guess. I mean, they probably could have provided us with COLD water that didn't taste like it came from a toilet, but whatever.

Sunday, I spent the day at my friend Cori's Bridal Shower. I have no pictures because I am a horrible friend. BUT, it was so much fun and I finally got to meet her Fiance. I'm just so happy for her that she has found someone that loves her and her daughter completely. And his family was so sweet! You can just tell that they already consider her part of the family, which is awesome!

And that was that my friends.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Back to the grind today. WAAAAH!

DIY Card Box and Program Box

Oh hey friends!

I'm baaaaack!

I've been telling you all about this project forever and I finally finished it on Tuesday.

It was a lot more work/effort/mess than I thought, but I had a lot of fun with it. I'm not quite sure how I thought it was going to work out, but I'm digging the end result.

About 8 billion years ago, when we first got engaged, I came across this post about making your own program box. So I took this DIY tutorial and made it my own a bit, but I never would have thought of it with out her.

So here it is... our Program and Card Box!!!

Here's what I did.

You will need:
  • 3 Paper Mache boxes (whatever style or size you want, I got mine from Joann's online)
  • Acrylic paint (I picked black, red, metallic silver, and a silver glitter) In the tutorial Chelsea uses latex paint, which is fine, I'm just allergic to latex so I just used Acrylic.
  • Clear coat (I wanted a shine to mine)
  • Brush (I used a foam one)
  • Wooden letters
  • Sticker letters (I found these in the scrapbook aisle)
  • Scissors, razor blade, etc. Something heavy duty to cut the boxes
  • Rhinestone band
  • Rub on designs
  • Glue gun
  • Black Feathers
  • And something to cover up your table because you WILL make a mess
Step 1: Get your boxes
Step 2: Cut holes in the bottom of the top box, the top and bottom of the middle box, and the top of the bottom box. Don't forget to leave enough room that you can still glue it together. Also, don't forget the slot on the top of the top box (probably should have taken a pic of that... I suck)
Step 3: I painted the letters just to get them out of the way.
Step 4: Decide on your paint pattern and get painting! I did black, silver, black. The black required 2 coats. The silver required 2, and then I put 2 coats of the glitter over it.
Step 5: Let the boxes dry (I let them dry overnight) and then apply your decals (those star looking things) and the letters on the program box.
Step 6: Cover everything with the clear coat. I did 2 coats on the black and only 1 on the silver. (Also, be careful with the decals... the clearcoat pulled some of it out of place. It was easy to fix, but hard to notice at times.
Step 7: Get gluing baby! I glued all of the parts together, except for the top of the bottom box. I didn't want to glue the entire thing together, but I also didn't want to make it easy for anyone to open it. So you have to take the huge entire top off to get at it (yeah... I trust no one haha) Then I glued on the rhinestones to the side of the tops of the boxes. And around the slot at the top. THEN... I glued on the letters. Finally, I worked with the feathers a bit to find where I liked them, and then glued them in place.
Step 8: Ask your Fiance 8,000 times if he likes it or if he thinks it is silly. Haha.

Card box. Hard to see, but there are feathers sticking out the side of the letter "C"

Program Box. I ended up painting the inside of the Program Box too because people would be seeing it. I painted it silver (and the top actually... which is tucked underneath it with rhinestones on it) for a little pop.

Welp... I hope you liked my overly explained, but simple project.

I love the way it turned out and I really had a lot of fun making it. I love projects like these, so I can't wait for the next one!!!

I'm hoping this adds a little to the style of the wedding, but also puts a personal DIY feel to it.

Friday's Letters

I feel like EVERY Friday, I breathe a sigh of relief that the week is over.

And EVERY Friday, I am SOOOO mother fluffing excited that I don't have to work the next day.

I think that means I'm in desperate need of a vacation, no?

Anywho... I'm linking up with Ashley (Who is currently driving cross country for her big move! Good luck! Can't wait to hear all about it!) for Friday's Letters.

Dear Big A, I know things have been a little stressful the past few weeks days. Ya know, with you working 6 days and me losing my shit on a regular basis, but thanks for always being my Number 1 Homie. I couldn't do it without you. Smooch!

Dear Mom, thanks for all of your help with EVERYTHING. And letting me yell at you through IM for 8 hours a day when you are supposed to be working. I appreciate it. (Even though sometimes I KNOW you get me all riled up on purpose...yes...I know EXACTLY what you are doing.)

Dear Time, where the eff are you going? I mean seriously... it's going to be August next week. Pre-season starts in 13 days. And the wedding is like 2 minutes away (practically). Seriously... slow your roll.

Dear Patriots, I can't believe your pre-season started in 13 days. EEK! I'm so excited. However, did you have to plan your first regular season game for the day AFTER our wedding at 1:00 PM. How the HELL am I supposed to make that? I know it's not ALL about me, but... could it be? Please?!

Dear Color Run, can you somehow get me more excited? I'm just.not.feeling it. I have no idea why. Maybe, it is because I'm lazy. I dunno. But, figure it out!

Dear Beach, I neeeeeeeed you. I love you like a fat kid loves cake. I miss you. I need you in my life... pronto!

Dear Tan, I'm sorry you are going away. I promise to pay more attention to you. But YOU have to promise to A) Be awesome and B) not peel. Dealski?

Dear Life of Leisure, I should be LIVING you. Instead I'm stuck here, in this cubicle, making too much money for my position, but not enough of what I need. You and I could be SO good together.

That's all for today lovers. Can you tell that I want to be ANYWHERE, but at work today? (Like that's different than any other day).

Come back later when I will be showing you my uber craftiness...wedding style!

Freak Out...

Last night, Big A and I met at our venue and had our second to last meeting with out coordinator.

Yeah... it was scary.

I'm thankful that we have such an amazing coordinator. She's been super awesome dealing with me over the past few months. Especially since I was super upset at first because they switched coordinators on me without any warning. So, I automatically didn't like Kristin.

Must be the bitch in me.

Anyway... when we went to have our tasting, I immediately fell in love with her and everything has been fine since. THANKFUL!

Last night we finalized the food selection, the linens, the agenda for the day, etc.

It wasn't a super long meeting (about an hour and a half) but we got everything locked down for our "details" meeting, which is in 27 days.

The only thing I am freaked out about is that I thought I had until 3 days before the wedding to get everything done. Seating chart, cards, money, etc. and apparently everything is due at our last meeting.

It isn't a huge difference, but it is 2 weeks earlier than I thought...so... I might be freaking out a little. Maybe.

We are almost at the one month mark and it is totally crunch time. So, for me, for than for you (although I'm sure you will have a barrel of laughs thinking of how I will be running around like a chicken without a head to do it all) I'm going to list out everything that we need to get accomplished in the next 27 days. Ug.

And I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some things.

And the list isn't HUGE, it's just time consuming. And costly.

And unfortunately, once I have a list of things to do, and I don't know where to start. I usually just shut down. Completely. And then leave everything to the last minute. And then call my mom or J$ crying, telling them I am freaking out, and one of them will come save me.

Yeah... I'm totally a big girl who can manage her own life... haha.

Big A and I have a plan... kind of. I think we are going to work on the songs on Monday. And I think I am going to just assign everything a day and just do it on that day. I mean, I DO have time. I'm sure I will have plenty of downtime while Big A is away at his Bachelor Party.

It's just stressful.

I'll make it though.

OK... well thanks for letting me freak out for a minute there. I'm going to go pretend to do important work and really make one of my over-detailed OCD lists that make me feel more productive even though I spend 6 hours on it and don't actually get anything done ON the list.

Unless... one of the items ON the list is to MAKE a list.

Bingo Bango.

I'm about to check something off my list! Woo!

So What! Wednesday

I love that every single Wednesday, I'm like, "what the hell am I going to write about today?" and then I realize that it is So What! Wednesday and I'm off the hook!

Thank you Shannon for giving me one day a week where I don't have to come up with my own topic! Haha!

This week I am saying So What! if...

* I skipped the gym every day for almost a month straight. Seriously. Last day was on June 27th. I FINALLY went last night. Yikes!

* I was ready to get off the elliptical when the uber pregnant chick walked in and started killing it on the machine next to me. I did 20 more minutes after that. I mean, this girl could have given birth right then and there, but that didn't affect her workout. Thank you Pregnant Stranger for being my motivation.

* I feel like I got hit by a truck this morning. Turns out that you can't sit on your ass for a month and then expect to get right back into your same workout routine.

* I'm not as excited about the Color Run this weekend as I thought I would be. Honestly, we have been so busy that I just want to relax. But, I don't want to lose out on $40 and everyone and their mother did it in blog land and they had so much fun!

* I promised Big A that I would always be tan and in shape (as well has do ALL the household chores) if he would just make it big, and make enough money so that I don't have to work anymore. He seemed into it... but unfortunately more in a "I'm just going to say what you want to hear" way then actually into it.

* I'm in denial that it will be AUGUST next week. Time is FLYING! I need things to sloooooooow down.

* I can't stand the maintenance people here. I get that from 7:00 - 8:00 AM is their "fixing" time, but I'm actually here blogging working. And it seems that they ONLY do work right near my desk. Don't you love the sound of a drill 3 feet away at 7 in the morning? No wonder I have had constant headaches.

* I want to poke myself in the eye sometimes just to get away from some of the people I encounter at work. If I tell you 8,000 times that our Account Payable process sucks and takes FOREVER and ask you if you understand that, and you say yes... then that forfeits all rights for you to send me an invoice and ask for it to be processed immediately. Seriously dude, was I just talking to hear my own voice? Nah, I was trying to warn you. A lot of good that did!

* I have become an old lady. I had J$ over last night and I was yawning so bad by 9:00 PM that I had tears coming down my face. Poor girl must have thought I was a freak! I get up so early, and go to bed so late (Thanks Big A) and add in the gym... forget it. This chicky passed the eff out last night.

Anywho... that's all I gots for you fine people today! We have a venue meeting tonight AND I finally finished the card box for the wedding, so expect a wedding related post soon! (I know, I know, you're probably sick of hearing about it... sometimes I'm sick of talking about it... but we are almost there... 45 days!!!)

Now,  head on over to Shannon's blog and link up!!!

I need some motivation.

What else is new? Haha.

I've been "trying" to go back to the gym for about a week now.

I haven't stepped foot in that gym since June 27th. Yep. Almost a month.

And since I'm nowhere near my goal. I need to get my ass back there.

But I don't.

I drive home from work, think about how tired I am, how hot it is out, and how many millions of things I have to do around the house.

And then I don't go.

Last night I was "going to go".

And instead... I worked on painting the card box for the wedding.

Granted I was being productive, but still.

Sitting on that couch spilling paint all over the place DID NOT burn any calories.

I was doing awesome when Kristen was doing Firm Fridays. And then I started doing my own, and that was OK. And now I do nothing. I can't be bothered.

If my ass is going to be in a bathing suit for an entire weekend for my Bachelorette Party... then it better look good. Which means... I need to go back to the mother fluffing gym!!!

Anyone have any ideas for how to re-light my fitness fire? I'm in desperate need of a kick in the ass.

Apparently I am also in desperate need of something to write about. Since this short whiny post about how I'm lazy isn't really cutting it.

I promise I will have some substance back here soon.

For now, I am going to eat the healthy food that I brought to work and dream about Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers.

I hate the first week of eating right. It always makes me feel like an obsessed junk food freak.

When in reality, I don't eat crap that much.

Happy Tuesday Folks! 3 more days until the weekend! Which is jam packed!

Bridal Shower Recap

Oh my goodness, it was a long weekend.

A long one in a good way. There was just so much stuff going on. I'm exhausted.

Saturday, as you all know, was my Bridal Shower.

I woke up being so excited. I made a cup of coffee. Hung out on the couch. Watched some TV. Trying to make the time pass. Just staring at the clock.

And then it hit me. All of the emotion. Seriously, I was a mess.

I should have figured as much, seeing as how I have been lately, but it still surprised me. You can read about the whole deal here. It was a hard morning.

Luckily, they sent my mom over early to deal with me. Haha. And she did a great job!

We got ready and then headed over to the shower.

Cue water works... again. One of my bridesmaids filmed me walking in, and you can see me loose my shit. Haha. I was the definition of a hot mess.

It was just so good to see everyone all in one place. Knowing they were there for us. Knowing it was because we were getting married. I just lost it. Haha. I was shaking so bad. I totally was surprised by my reaction!

My beautiful MOH and I. Who greeted me at the door with
a sash, a lei, and a stiff drink. She's the best.

They had me sit down for a minute and gain my composure. Then I was able to go around and say hi to everyone. It was so much fun to see everyone.

The only downfall of the day was my shoes. My beautiful brand new shoes. The ones that I didn't notice that were too big for me. Which resulted in my foot sliding off them as I walked and I fell...twice. Seriously... I get all dressed up. Do my hair. Do my make-up. And then fall on my face.

Big A said I wouldn't be me if I didn't fall on my face! Haha. Isn't he sweet?!

After that I sat in my special chair and tried not to move. And when I did, I just took my shoes off and walked around barefoot. It was the safest option.

After that, it was present time!!! Which was so much fun and so awkward at the same time. I've never had to open up presents in front of 55 people before. Haha. Everyone was so sweet and so generous.

My girls played a game where they had a timer. And every time the timer went off they named an item and the first person who had the item in their purse won the prize. They did a great job. And the prizes were awesome. There was an ice cream machine, a fondue set, a chocolate fountain. and a S'mores maker. Everyone loved it.

After that, the party was winding down and people started to leave. Big A showed up and we loaded up the truck and got everything home and in the newly cleaned loft.

We went back to hang out for a little, but I was beat and we were home by 10:00. I'm pretty sure that I was passed the eff out by 10:30. Haha. It was a long day.

I can't even begin to describe how absolutely AMAZING the day was. My girls did a PHENOMENAL job! It was everything I imagined time a thousand! It was perfect! The decorations, the food, the drinks, etc. They killed it. It was exactly what I wanted. I am so thankful to have such amazing people in my life!

And now I will leave you with some pictures from the shower.

From left to right. 1. Getting ready. 2. Mr. Fresh posing. 3. Laughing as they explain this super sweet gift. 4. The drinks. 5. My AMAZING present from my MOH. 6. N & Jackums. 7. Beverage tub with margarita set & margarita mix. Delish. 8. Future MIL. 9. Reading cards. 10. Big A's Beatles poster. 11. MOH gift. 12. Bride flip flops. 13. Bachelorette Pimp Cup. 14. The coolest sweatshirt EVER made. 15. My ribbon bouquet worn as a hat. 16. Crying during my speech. 17. Brother's Gf. 18. New cookware from the future inlaws!!!

Woo! There were like a million pictures, but I thought I would keep it short(ish) and sweet.

47 Days to go!!!

Saturday, July 21, 2012

Today is my bridal shower.

I can't even begin to explain how incredibly happy and excited I am.

I have about three hours until my mom comes to pick me up and they will probably be the longest three hours that I have ever known. Haha.

The problem with having downtime is that you have time to think.

That's where today become bittersweet. Where all of this becomes bittersweet.

Every so often in wedding planning, it hits me like a ton of bricks. Those who won't be there. And then I am all of a sudden reminded of these people that I love so incredibly much, even though they are gone, and the heartache that I feel about them not being there on my wedding day.

I won't get to dance with either one of grandfathers. I won't get that picture that all of my cousins have.

I won't get to have my Mimi there. Seeing my walk down the aisle. Something she never got to see with any of us because she was taken from us far too soon.

I know it hurts Big A that his grandparents won't be there. How I will only ever hear stories about most of them and will never have the pleasure of meeting them. We are blessed with the fact that he still has his maternal grandmother, one of the sweetest women I have ever met. But, I know it is hard for him that she doesn't get to come to family events.

It's been no secret that I have been an emotional mess throughout this whole process. Most people have been marvelling at the fact that it seems like I have "thawed" out, or the robot finally has expressed feelings. Which of course, is all in good fun. While most people close to me have seen me break down a time or two, this overly sensitive person is still a bit new to them.

Today is a bit different. I think it is because this is the first "event" for the wedding. Well... except for the Engagement Party, but I think everything was still so new and crazy then that I never had time to stop and thing about it. This is where it becomes real that all of this is happening, with or without them.

I think it was magnified by the programs that I was working on yesterday. And how I kept having to rearrange everything because the "In Loving Memory" section was too big.

And to be honest, that hurts. Pretty bad. At times I feel like I got a raw deal. How it's not fair. Why don't I get them there? It's pretty easy to get angry about it. Questioning why things like this happen and why it will always hurt.

I try not to let it get to me too much. I've really been trying to focus on everything that I DO have. And how lucky I am to have the people I do in my life. My amazing friends who would do anything for me. My family. My mom, my dad, my brother. Some people go through all of this without them. My extended family. And of course, the amazing family that I am gaining. The family that has welcomed me with open arms since the day they met me. And let's not forget my amazing Fiance, who without, none of this would ever happen.

I truly am a lucky girl. I am blessed.

And that's what I am going to try to focus on. That is what I am going to throw myself into today. I'm not going to hold onto the sadness of those who won't be there, I'm going to enjoy every.single.second. of who IS there.

I know this is a bit heavy for a Saturday. But, I felt like I needed to get this all out so that I truly enjoy myself today.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I'll be back with recaps sometime next week.

Hair & Make-up Trial

So, last night I had my hair trial for the wedding.

Can I tell you how absolutely INSANE it felt to actually be getting my hair done and have it be for MY wedding? It was pretty surreal.

My hair dresser, Ma-Rizzle, has been a friend of mine forever. So I'm pretty lucky that I have such a great friend who does hair too! When I got engaged, it wasn't even a question of who was going to do my hair. I already knew.

Here are the pictures from last night. Please note that:

A) This was just to get a general idea. We are going to pull back the front a little bit, and change the top so that my veil will stay in.
B) My hair will be a darker brown.
C) I will also be getting red streaks in my hair, so you will see them all through the hair style.

Can't wait to have it done on the actual wedding day! Thanks Ma-Rizzle!

Now, time for pictures from my make-up trial. The girl who is doing it is a friend of a friend. And truth be told, I kind of stalk her on Facebook to try and copy her make-up and hair styling tips. Unfortunately, she is talented and I am not. Haha.

Excuse the last picture. I was playing with one of the fake eyelashes and it was coming off.

Note to self: Do NOT play with face.

Big A wasn't a huge fan of the eyelashes. Truth be told, they were pretty diesel in person. HOWEVER, they look FABULOUS in pictures. I was going to go a little less extreme, but now I'm not so sure.

Well, dress fitting, make-up trial, and hair trial done.

Bridal Shower tomorrow. RSVP by date next week. Things are coming along!

Check out the progress here.

Missed something in the planning? Go here.

Friday's Letters

I know I promised my hair / make-up trial pics, but I'm gonna do Friday's Letters first.

Why? Because I wanna...

Anywho... if you haven't done so already, you HAVE to go check Ashley out! She's fab.

She's also the host of Friday's Letters, so without further adieu...

Dear Big A, seriously, you get the award for dealing with the over-stressed, over-worked, nut case of a Fiance. I don't know HOW you keep your patience with me, but you are doing amazing. I'm trying SO hard not be the crabbiest person ever, so it definitely helps that you are always  there to make me laugh.

Dear Ma-Rizzle, you are an artist when it comes to doing my hair. Except for that time I cut all of my hair off and then cried the next day (which isn't your fault at all, you tried to talk me out of it) I have NEVER had a complaint about my hair. Thanks so much for doing great work on me and I know my hair will look fabulous for the wedding. (And thanks for always being that friend who will bust out the Soul Train moves at the drop of a hat).

Dear Bridesmaids & N, I can't WAIT to see what awesomeness you have come up with for the shower. I am soooooooooooo excited!!!!!

Dear Mama, thank you for coming back from vacation. These are critical times. A girl needs her Mama. You may not leave again until after September 8th. Thanks!

Dear Car Alarm that was Going Off at 6:30 this Morning, I personally want to thank you for the splitting headache that I have this morning. You are lucky that Big A couldn't hear you over the AC in the bedroom. You are also lucky that I didn't have time to find you and a sledgehammer and make you quiet for good.

Dear Work, go aaawwwaaaaaay! But, please keep paying me. Thanks!

Dear People who have Not RSVP'd Yet, I know our end date is Thursday, but please please please send your shit sooner rather than later! Once I get a better idea of how many people are coming then I can decide whether to freak the eff out or not. Thanks. Smooches!

Dear Mr. Fresh, thanks for always being the most snuggly Border Collie EVER! Also, thanks for always preferring me over your Papa. And lastly, thanks for always letting me cuddle with you, but growling when your Papa gets too close. I know I'M your favorite!

Dear Jackums, it has been TOO long since I have been able to squish Baby Moo, fix that. ASAP. She's my baby too ya know! She misses her favorite Auntie!

Dear Mother Nature, please cooperate tomorrow. I would like to be comfortable. Not too hot, not too cold. Your forecast looks good. Now, don't be a bitch and change it on me. Thanks!

Alright Lovers! That's all for today! Come back lata for some beautiful pictures of my mean mug! You will get to see what I look like when I have a team of beautiful ladies styling me. I wonder if I could get rich quick so I could just hire them daily... hmmm....

Anywho... Happy FRIDAY Bishes!!!

Busy, Busy Night

Last night was a busy one in our household.

Let's talk about the fun stuff first.

I had been on the search for the perfect pair of shoes to wear to my bridal shower. And I was PICKY. They had to be the RIGHT shade of pink.

In fact, I dragged my poor Mom and J$ to a bunch of different places, tore through them, and then deemed them all not good enough. When in all reality, I had already found the perfect pair. I just wanted to find them, I didn't want to have to order them.

But, that apparently didn't work for me. So I had to order them. And pay extra for shipping to get them here in time. And yesterday, they arrived. And another fun purchase I HAD to have!

1. I had just gone outside to throw a load of laundry in the basement and when I came back in someone knocked on the door and said they had a package. I didn't see a truck and you can't see for shit in my hallway. Since I can't open the door without Mr. Fresh going crazy, I had to put him in the bedroom, but then I got nervous. So, I put a butcher knife right by the door just in case. Turns out he was legit, and a very nice man. Haha. At least I was prepared. 2. The shape the package was in left something to be desired. Thankfully nothing was breakable.3. I came across this dress in the Clearance section. Had to have it. Possible Rehearsal Dinner dress perhaps?4. The shoes! LOVE them! And cork is SO comfy to walk on. Seriously, I had cork shoes before and I could walk in them FOREVER. Of course, now that I said that my feet are going to kill me on Saturday.

And everything came to about $30-something even WITH shipping. This might be my new favorite store!

After that, Big A came home and we got down to business (no, not THAT business...sickos). With the Bridal Shower coming up, we needed somewhere to put everything until we move (which is hopefully sooner rather than later) and our loft was a MESS! We have a spiral staircase that goes up there, which was cool when we moved in, but you can't get stuff up and down easy and it is a pain in the ass. So we hardly ever go up there. Especially since it is a million degrees in the Summer. So, it just became where we threw all of our crap. So, we cleaned out all the junk we haven't touched in 2 1/2 years.
5. Before. Did you know there is a blow up mattress under there? 6. Before. 7. After. MUCH Better. 8. Oh, hey BED! 9. Nice & Neat. 10. Yep...that's the same as 5. I just noticed it and NO, I'm not fixing it. Took me forever to do THIS much! Haha.

We have been avoiding this task for MONTHS! And I am SO glad that we finally got it done. It took us about an hour and a half and we filled the back of Big A's truck up with junk. I thought it was going to be such a chore, especially since most of the stuff was mine, but I needed help.

Big A was awesome and we were like a well-oiled machine. I put all the junk in a pile. Then threw it down to him in the living room. And he parked his truck outside the window and then opened it and threw everything in the bed of the truck. It was perfect.

He comes up with some great ideas! Haha.

So, now it is nice and neat. There's still a lot of stuff up there, but at least we got rid of everything we don't want. When we move into a house, we can go through everything again and decide what will fit and what won't.

I found some cool stuff though I forgot about. A bunch of pictures from high school & college (I'll have to post some for you), my preschool graduation certificate...yep...that's a good 20 years old, a book that my grandfather and I wrote stories in when he moved back to Ireland (we would take turns writing a story, and then send it to each other...made the distance seem a little less far...god I miss him sometimes). It was cool to find stuff that I totally didn't even know I still had.

After that, we rewarded ourselves with some delicious tacos. And then we passed the eff out. You know it has been a long day when Big A is bugging ME to turn the TV off and it's only 11:00!!!

I have my hair trial tonight, so I should be posting pics tomorrow. And I don't think I've shown you make-up trial pics either, so I will do that tomorrow too.

So What! Wednesday

I'm linking up with my girl Shannon for another So What! Wednesday!

I am SO excited that it is already Wednesday!

My bridal shower is on Saturday and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

This week I am saying So What! if...

* I HATE Staff Meeting day. With a burning passion. Like sometimes I think of crashing my car just to get out of it. Now that's a healthy thought!

* If getting out of the house in the morning with everything I need has become quite difficult. I've got a lot going on and apparently it is showing.

* I want to watch the movie Magic Mike every night for the rest of my life.

* Even though I thought he was kind of a douche I now have a huge crush on "The Kid". His name is Alex and his last name starts with a P. Obviously, it is meant to be. (I kid. I kid. Kinda...)

* All I want to do is be on the beach. Seriously. I want to call out of work every single day and go to the beach.

* I invited myself to a lunch today so that I could get out of part of the Staff Meeting. Clever. Veeerrry clever.

* We have a bunch of people here wandering around, asking me questions, and it makes me want to scream. I have to spend the next 6 hours in a meeting. Which means, I need THIS time to get done what I need to do today in two hours instead of eight. THAT means. Go away.

* I forgot to leave something out to defrost for dinner tonight. And then called Big A to see if he was still home and could do it. And he sound panicked on the phone that I was calling him instead of texting. Actually...that's not a So What!... I really do feel bad. He sounded so worried. Oh, I love that man.

* I think I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I'm getting married in 52 days. That's normal right?

* I wanted to trip my boss when he walked by me with a plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, and home fries and I was guzzling down a gross Protein Shake.

*I'm pretty sure that I don't hide my annoyance well at work. Eh. Maybe it will get them to back off a little more.

* I took my pill with coffee instead of the recommended water. Coffee has water in it, right?

* I just realized that apparently I am SUPER cranky today. Ug. Can't their be "cranky days"? Kind of like sick days, but for days like today.

* I just want a nap.

Anywho...I hope you all enjoyed my So What! Wednesday from the perspective of a whiny, overtired toddler. Now, head on over and link up with Shannon.

Bloggers 411

You all know that I love me a good link-up.
I also love Becky and her adorable family (including the little bambino on the way!)
So why not mix those two loves?

I'm linking up with Becky over at From Mrs to Mama for Bloggers 411.

Now you get to know everything about me! You lucky ducks!

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?
I have been blogging for two years now. I actually hit my two year anniversary at the beginning of July. It's crazy how much has changed since then. I had some private blogs when I was younger and was always into writing. Whether it be in journals or what not. It was my escape. My own little therapy session.

I was toying with the idea of starting one, when my cousin in Lousiana started one so that she could stay in touch with everyone else. She lived in Louisiana. My other cousin was living in either Washington or Georgia at the time. I think another cousin was in Panama. And 90% of my dad's side of the family lives in Ireland. So I thought it was a fabulous idea and hijacked it as quickly as I could.
I think I have become more comfortable with my writing at times. I've received such positive feedback from it that I actually feel like I am creating something relevant. Something that people like and that matters.

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?
I went to Framingham State College here in Massachusetts. And honestly, I loved it. I majored in Psychology and their Psychology department was AMAZING. I did not have a single professor that I didn't like. I'm DYING to go back for my Masters, but I don't know what I want to go for and money is an object. I'm still paying a crap load for my undergrad. I loved College and I definitely miss it. I know. I know. I'm a nerd.

 3. Where have you traveled?
I haven't been to too many places. In the US, I've been to Massachusetts (obviously), New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, New York, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and I've flown through Pennsylvania. Out of the US, I've been to Montreal, Nova Scotia, Ireland, and Scotland.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
A house. We hate our apartment. Hate it. We need to move out of there ASAP.
5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?
Hmm... just 3? Haha. People who chew loudly. It's obnoxious. Unnecessary drama. I have NO patience for it. And lying. Seriously. Want to get my blood boiling? Lie to me. About anything. I will go from 0 to 60 and we probably won't talk for awhile.

6. What is your favorite movie?
Although I haven't watched it in a few years, it has always been and WILL always be Mary Poppins. (Although I'm finally going to see Magic Mike tomorrow, so that might be a close second)

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
It depends on my mood. Very rarely do I drink liquor. And I NEVER drink tea. Other than that, it depends on what is there and how I feel.

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
I'm big into crafty/artsy things. So if I have a project or something like that that I am working on, then I'm a happy girl. I love drawing, painting, etc. Anything that allows me to work my creative juices. (Eww.. that line always sounded gross to me)

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
I'm going to say Target, because you can get ANYTHING there. And I would probably spend about $200 on myself, and then spend the rest on stuff we need. Because let's be honest, at the end of the day I AM a practical girl.

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.
Hmm... I'm sure I could think of a million things, because I'm honestly a walking comedy show. Seriously. But, let's go with recent. Last Thursday two of my friends and I went to the beach. And I had bought a new bathing suit top, and new bottoms (they didn't match but that's pointless to the story). I have to wear a strapless bathing suit because I'm getting married soon and my dress is strapless... which means I'm totally vain and refuse to have tan lines. Well, a couple of times I got knocked over by waves when we were swimming and when I came up for air, there were the girls... MY girls... hanging out for the world to see. And the beach was PACKED! So, I flashed like a million people...twice. And at one point I got dragged by a wave and it ripped my bottoms almost completely off. I caught them just in time.

It wasn't my finest hour. I got over it pretty quick though because A) well... I think I have nice boobs, so it was probably a treat (I'm allowed to be full of myself, I was a late bloomer!) and B) there was nothing I could do about it so, why freak out over it? Ya know.

11. What day would you love to relive again?
Hmm... there are a lot of days I would like to live over. Fun times in my childhood. Special days with people who are no longer with us, like my grandparents. Meeting Alex. The day we got engaged. Fun memories with friends. Too many to pic just one.

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?
Hmm... this one is a tough one, because honestly, I don't think I actually LOOK like any celebrities. But, I would like to think Mila Kunis. Not because we resemble each other in ANY way, but I think she would do a good job of being me.

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
I didn't have a lot of jobs as a kid. I worked at Super Cuts as a receptionist for like 3 months and got fired because the new manager fired everyone and hired her family. True story. Pretty sure that's not legal. Whatever.

Then I worked at a Day Care for six years. Leaving twice to be a nanny. Once for 3 months. And another for a year. I miss working with kids and always tell Alex that if we ever get to a point where money isn't a issue due to his pay, then I'm going back. Which he fully supports.

Then I worked at an Elementary School for 2 years in their Autism program. I loved the kids and most of the people I worked with, but the money sucked and the program was struggling. It was too much stress for not enough money. It wasn't good for me to stay there anymore. I do miss it though.

And now I work as an Executive Assistant at a Gas Company in their Corporate Office. Super fun. It isn't a glamorous job, but I'm grossly overpaid, so I can't complain.

14. Show us a picture from high school or college.
I'll have to actually dig for some high school pictures, but all I could find for now was a picture from Thanksgiving of my Senior year. At this point I had taken out all of my facial piercings, so I REALLY need to find an older picture for you!

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
Probably some place tropical. Like Hawaii. Or the Bahamas. Somewhere warm where I could sit out on the beach all day long. And have fruity drinks. Ahh... that would be the life.

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you and your family.
Mr. Fresh. My little man. He will always be my baby!
Big A. Just one part, but a VERY important part of my family.

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
Five years from now? I'm hoping in our own house. With a better job. Happily married. And probably with a little bambino. Loving life.

And that's all she wrote! Wanna know more? Feel free to ask any question. I'm a pretty open book!

Weekend Recap

Oh weekend. Where have you gone?

I think I need to be put on some sort of medication to deal with Mondays. I'm struggling.

I also think I'm going to need to be heavily sedated when the weather starts turning cold again. Seriously. I don't want Summer to end.

This weekend was a good one, as they always are.

Saturday I had my dress fitting. Which was pretty surreal in itself. I may or may not have cried. (I know, I'm a big baby).

The day started out a little rough. I woke up at like 4:00 AM thinking I was going to be sick. It was the worst feeling in the entire world. And all I could think was that I didn't have time to reschedule my appointment and I was going whether I threw up on someone or not. Luckily, when I woke up I felt a little better and I just let my stomach sit until lunch. By then it was fine! THANK GOD! I don't know what that was, but it wasn't fun.

Anyway, after the dress fitting Ma Dukes, J$, and I went out to lunch to eat a nice fatty meal since I could finally breathe a little since my fitting was over.

For the record, the dress fit like a glove. All I need is to get the bustle put in. Which is a damn miracle since they told me to order a size down from what I tried on and when I picked it up...let's be honest...it wasn't exactly a comfortable fit.

The alterations lady said: "nicely done" and that just about made my day.

Anywho... then we went on a wild goose chase to find some shoes for my shower (which is in 5 days! EEK!) to no avail. And then we bought some supplies for a project I am working on.

By that time I was tired, hot, and sweaty so we called it a day and went home.

Big A and I had a WILD night of eating Chinese food and then hanging out at home. I'm pretty sure that we were in bed by like 11:30. Wild. I know.

Sunday was a day of relaxation and leisure. I hijacked N's plans and hung out with her and her friend. It was a lovely afternoon. Just what the doctor ordered. Although, I DO wish it was a little sunnier out. The sun was behind the clouds most of the day. Bummer.

And that's where we are. I will have a post of my project once it is finished. The rest of the stuff comes today so I am excited to get something checked off my to do list.

Hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend!

Reality has hit me and I'm going back to eating lettuce leafs from now until the wedding. So, get ready to hear me complain about being hungry and tired (from all those awesome gym workouts that I'm going to do) for the next 8 weeks. Woo!

Friday's Letters

PhotobucketIn honor of the fact that I spent the entire day at the beach yesterday drinking Coors-aritas and eating Nachos...I think we are going to ditch Foxy Friday this week.

Honestly, my heart isn't in it. I got knocked off the healthy train (or threw myself off it, whatever) and I have no motivation to get back on it. I mean... I didn't do horrible this week, but I still haven't stepped foot in a gym.

I spent my day in a bathing suit yesterday and felt fine with myself. I got more comfortable as the day went on. Although, that could be from the drinking and the fact that I totally get beer goggles with myself (this is how I learned that you shouldn't get drunk and then get ready to go out, eek!)

So, I shall spend my Friday linking up with Ashley for Friday's Letters.

Dear N & Jackums, thank you SO much for yesterday. I seriously needed a day of just chilling. No stress. No drama. No work. No clowns. Just sun, sand, waves, drinks, and apparently flashing an entire beach my lady bits, multiple times. Entirely by accident on ALL accounts.

Dear Big A, can you please open up some big successful shop that makes lots of dollah dollah bills ya'll? Or can we win the lottery? I just want to be able to go to the beach any time I want. It makes me SO happy! I promise to be the best house wife ever! And I totally promise that I won't come home sunburned and turn into a whiny toddler by 10:00 PM. Pinky promise!

Dear Work, You are not the beach. I am not a fan of you.

Dear Bridesmaids, seriously, can we believe that the shower is next Saturday? As in 8 days? And the wedding will be here in like 5 minutes. Who is looking forward to getting back to their normal lives and not having to look at my mean mug as often? Anyone? Anyone? Seriously though, thank you SO much for everything.

Dear J$, special shout out for being a kick ass MOH and having everything organized. Thank you also for making sure that whatever I am wearing color coordinates with your special items because you know it would bother me if it clashed. You truly get my OCD and for that I appreciate it!

Dear Bills, please pay yourselves without taking money from my bank account. You are the reason pay day is bittersweet. I wake up and my account is AMAZING and then I watch it all but disappear. Ug. Go away. (This includes wedding bills too. Shoo!)

Dear Sun Burn, I know that you are completely my fault. I know this. However, while you would rather that I be at home laying naked slathered in aloe (trust me, if you saw this burn you wouldn't think that was a sexual comment) but I am at work. Please try to make it a little more bearable to wear a bra and pants. Thanks!

Dear Crap I Ordered Online, get her quickly please. I want to share all of my fun purchases. Shanks!

Dear New Followers, HI! Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet! Most of you have been great and sent me a comment or an e-mail introducing yourself which I LOVE! If you haven't heard back from me, it means that your comment came through as a "no-reply" and I can't! If you haven't introduced yourself yet, take a minute to do so! I love checking out new blogs!

That's all for today folks! Head on over to Ashley's blog and link up!

So What! Wednesday

It's time for another So What! Wednesday!

Want to get into this awesome chance to bitch about life let it all out?

Head on over to Shannon's blog and link-up!

This week I am saying So What! if...

* I get seriously annoyed when people walk up/down stairs on either the wrong side or in the middle. A) You always go to the right. That's YOUR side. B) If you are walking up the MIDDLE of the stairs. I can't get by. And trust me, one of these days I will finally snap and actually "accidentally" push you down the stairs. I am not waiting and watching until you are done on them. I am ALSO not dealing with your dirty looks when you are on the wrong side and I refuse to move. I WILL win this battle. You WILL move out of my way.

* People with no stairway etiquette annoy me.

* If the fact that I haven't sat down for more than two seconds in the 3 hours that I have been here annoys the crap out of me. Don't they know that this is my blog time? I don't work until after 12:00 PM. (I kid, I kid... kinda)

* I bought Slimquick to help me get back on the Weight Loss Train. I think it might help me with all of the extra beer water weight. Or maybe it will do nothing. Who knows. At least I will feel like I am doing SOMETHING!

* I haven't been to the gym since June 27th. It has been BUSY. But I am getting back on track. I am dragging my ass there tonight. I would like to blame N and her wonky work schedule, it is all her fault. If she went with me I would go. :)

* We have been in our new building for a month today and I still barely know how to use the new phones. I THINK I can transfer people, but I definitely can NOT transfer them to someone's voicemail. It's like some secret ninja process that you only find out after being inducted into the secret society. I'm waiting to be hazed so I can be competent at my job again.

* I can NOT for the life of me get up on time in the morning. Seriously. I wake up 5 minutes after the time I am supposed to leave my house every.freaking.morning. Ug.

* I cleaned my desk yesterday and apparently threw away multiple important pieces of information with things I need to do. And when questioned about it, I just giggled and said "Whoops! That's what I get for cleaning!". Thanks GOD my bosses find me entertaining.

* My tolerance for drama and bullshit is completely non-existent right now. And I KNOW for a fact that someone is going to get the brunt of the backlash... and I don't really care. I've decided to "do me" for the next 59 days. And for those who don't like it. I'll deal with you on September 9th BIATCH! Or not... maybe I just won't deal with you at all! *insert Chris Brown's annoying cocky laugh here*

* I can't afford what I want for a bunch of wedding stuff, so I'm just not doing it.....yet. I'm a picky bitch (shocking) and I want what I want. But, I'm also a cheap bastard sooo... I guess one of them is gonna lose. Whose it gonna be? The Bitch? or The Bastard?

* I read Leah's post this morning and giggled the entire way through it. A) Home Girl is HYSTERICAL when she goes off. Seriously. Love it. B) She's got my back, because part of it was due to a shitty situation and C) She speaks truth.

* I forgot the alphabet and wrote B twice instead of C. Hehe

* I can't wait to go to the BEACH tomorrow and freaking burn the crap out of my Irish skin. I WILL be tan for the wedding if it freaking KILLS me. Seriously.

That's all for today folks. Head on over to Shannon's blog and link up!

Also, I'm linking up for a blog hop with some fabulous girls! Head to any of the following blogs for more information!

Wedding Inspiration: Planning Update

Well folks, I had planned on showing pictures from my make-up trial that I had yesterday, but someone was a braniac and left her phone at home.

Which had the pictures on it.

Let's be honest, if they were on a camera you would never see them. So at least there is some hope since I carry my phone with me EVERYWHERE.

I thought that maybe I would give ya'll an update on wedding planning since we are UNDER TWO FREAKING MONTHS AWAY FROM IT!!!

EEK! Seriously, time is going by WAY.TO.FAST.

Seriously...can you believe this?

I put together a collage of sorts of what I have planned, am planning, thinking, etc. In other words, this is all of the shit that is swirling around my head 24/7.

Now for some notes:
Centerpieces: I LOVE this design. We did it accidentally. There are silver stones at the bottom, with two dark purple calla lilies and a black magic rose, and a black feather that matches the bouquets. We will have the stands for the table names coming out the top to fill up some of that blank space at the top.

Bridesmaid Dresses: This is the actual dress that my Maid of Honor picked. I let everyone pick their own dress as long as it was in the Apple color and floor length. If you want to see all of the dresses go here and here.

Reception Room: Speak for itself. However, we will have white chair covers and I can't remember if we chose the red sashes or the black. I think it was red.

Wedding Shoes: These are the exact shoes that I picked. Only mine were color matched to the Apple of the Bridesmaid dresses. I LOVE them.

Wedding Rings & Invitations: Pretty self explanatory. You can read about them here: Rings  Invitations

Card Box: This is one of my inspiration pics. I just ordered a bunch of the stuff to make it. Hopefully, I will have a post about it soon!

Bridesmaid & Bride Bouquets: Seriously, I am SO excited about these. They are like a work of art. And our florist is absolutely amazing! I have no doubt that she will make my dreams come true with these.

"I Do" Stickers: I have a bunch of stuff like this planned for pictures. I have been searching high and low for unique picture ideas. Our photographer is pretty much a rockstar, so I am SO excited to see the pictures. I definitely want some traditional pictures, but I also want a bunch of cool artsy ones that I can display in our currently non-existent house! Haha. (If you have any cool ideas, please feel free to send them my way!)

That's everything for now. We are still waiting on about half of our responses. I think we have nailed down what we are doing for the table names. Still need to figure something out for the place cards. Oy! So much to do!

I have my dress fitting on Saturday. Hair Trial next Thursday, and then I have my Shower next Saturday. And then seriously, in a blink of an eye, it will be August and I will have a month left.

Cue peeing my pants here.

As always, if you want the WHOLE skinny on wedding planning, you can hit the tab at the top of my blog. Or go here.

And lastly, I have a question for the former Brides: A friend of mine asked me if I had a Reception dress, or just my Wedding dress. She said that she wished she had had a different dress to change into for the last hour or so since she was so hot and it got hard to move around in her dress. Did anyone do this? Or wish they had done this? Just looking for some input. Thanks!

I hope I didn't bore all of you to sleep! I'm just getting SO excited I can't even take it! EEK!
