Friday's Letters

This was a LONG week. Long week. Busy week. Thank GOD it is over. I'm looking forward to a fabulous weekend filled with fun, Fall activities, and some relaxation.
Dear September, where did you go? Seriously, just yesterday it was Big A and I's first anniversary and now it is practically October. What's up with that? Slow down a little bit. Not too much. But just a little.
Dear October, you might be my favorite month of all. You are going to be busy, that's for sure. With a wedding, a Fall Fest event, registering, and getting started on all of the projects we need to do, I'm sure you will be over in a heartbeat. However, my most FAVORITE day will be the 23rd. That's when we find out if the baby is a boy or a girl! EEK!
Dear Big A, you're welcome for deciding not to be a crazy lady and scheduling an elective ultrasound ASAP. I'm still slightly considering it, but since our appointment is two days later than I thought it would be (and not over a week like the lady was telling me) I decided I could be patient. I mean, it's only 26 days. I mean, it is the 27th of September and it feels like the first was yesterday, so I know time is FLYING.
Dear N, thank you for being such an awesome friend. When I told you that I was finding out the gender on the 23rd, you asked, "so when can we go registering?!". Thanks for all that you do to be there for me and to help me out. I know you love this baby so much already and you are going to be a fabulous Auntie! (And that's about as nice as I'm going to be to you for the next 6 months, so you better read this.)
Dear Work, there are some things going on. Could be exciting. Could be disappointing. In true pessimist fashion, I've already prepared for the pessimist part. Just do me a favor and just put me out of my misery. It's worse not knowing because then I become more optimistic as the days go by and  that's just not cool. Soooo... just punch we in the face now and I can spend my weekend recovering. Cool?
Dear Self, you should probably update your pictures on your desk. I mean, you and Big A (and Mr. Fresh) look adorable, but they are WAY out of date. I mean, one is from a wedding 3 YEARS ago. The other is from an apartment you haven't lived in for almost a year with a comforter in the background that Mr. Fresh destroyed about 3 years ago as well. Hmm... if only you had some wonderful, expensive, professional pictures that you could use!
Dear Bank Account, thank GOD this is a week that I don't have to pay too much in bills. It was getting pretty hairy there for a minute. Don't judge me too much. I'm trying to pay everything down before le bebe comes. Sooo... just be patient. And stop charging me those ridiculous fees for going under your ridiculous threshold. I hate you.
Dear Mumsie, you are spoiling me rotten lately and I do not hate it. You know you don't have to. But I do greatly appreciate it. I now have a pretty good start on a selection of clothes I can wear when I'm large and in charge (which is probably any day now). You're the best.
Dear Self, you need to start moving. I know things are hard, and I know you're tired. Blah blah blah. If you gain 600 lbs in this pregnancy, you are going to hate yourself. So, go for a walk outside while you still can. Maybe buy some new workout DVDs. Do something! You will thank me later.
Dear House Renovations, please, please, please go easy on us. I know you are going to be expensive, but we are pretty much draining our savings to do you. So now hidden surprises. Unless you want to come in under budget. Then in that case... go for it!
That's all for today. Don't forget to sign-up for the Fall Favorite Things Blogger Swap. Enter below and go here for the rules and details. Today is the last day to enter!

So What! Wednesday

Linking up with Shannon for So What! Wednesday!
This week I am saying So What! if...
* My road rage it out of control. I've got random people walking out in the middle of the street by my office building instead of on the perfectly good sidewalk (walking 5 people across is NOT acceptable, the road is for CARS), doing the 10 second stop at a stop sign when there isn't a car in sight, driving 10 mph BELOW the speed limit, and randomly stopping or slowing down for absolutely no reason. Don't even get me started on the lack of blinker usage. Let's just say that my car rides have become pretty loud and full of profanity.
* I have been struggling with my hair dryer lately and it is totally just because of user error. The first time I was flipping the temperature switch and not the power switch, so of course it wouldn't turn on. And then last night, I plugged in my straightener instead. Yeah... they don't work when you don't plug them in. Good grief! At least I had a good laugh at myself.
* I am the most impatient person in the entire world and I just want to know the baby's gender, like, yesterday. I thought they were doing it at my 18 week, but they schedule it separate and it probably won't be until 19 weeks. And since they have been booking me a week behind for everything, I'm NOT waiting until 20 weeks. I told Big A that if they did that this time, then we were scheduling an elective ultrasound to find out sooner. I have planning to do. Let's get this show on the road.
* I give Boss Man lessons on what is and is not acceptable when walking by my cube. I know that he just does things to bother me, but I'm thinking that maybe someone who is a repeat offender may overhear and stop dragging their hands down the wall when they walk by, touching and moving my things, coming INTO my cube and standing behind me, etc. I asked if we could electrify it so it would give people a shock when they touched it and he said no. I never get to do ANYTHING.
* I'm excited about Big A and I's date at Home Depot tonight. We are going to pick out stuff to FINALLY get started on the upstairs at our house. Now, if we were smart, we would have been working on this bit by bit over the past year. BUT, we never do anything we don't have to, so naturally we wait until we are having a baby and it NEEDS to get done. Whatever, it gets done regardless, just now it is more exciting and suspenseful! Haha.
* I really wish I didn't have to work 5 days a week. I LOVED my 3 day week last week. I was so refreshed and happy. And now... boooooooooooooo.
* I'm super excited that N is coming over tomorrow because that means that I will finally clean my house. Sometimes I'm really good at keeping up with it. And sometimes I clean out of pure embarrassment of someone coming over and seeing the giant dog hair balls floating around the house.
* I have been wanting to write some big, long dramatic (and probably a bit nasty) post about a particularly ridiculous incident that happened this weekend, but I have decided to continue taking the high road. I'm squeaky clean in this situation and I'm not about to mess that up now by stooping to a lower level. I'm going to be a Mom. I don't have time for that bullshit.
* I'm super excited that I have posted 3 days in a row! Haha. I know Monday's post was kind of  a fluff post, but it was a post. It counts!
Alright, that's it for today!
Also, just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to my wonderful friend Leah for winning the Diamond Candle giveaway! I can't wait to see what ring you get! Thanks everyone for entering!

Bumpdate: 14 Weeks

September 17th - 23rd, 2013
So what has been going on this week?
Started getting the process going to work on the upstairs of our house. We have been staying in a bedroom on the first floor since it needs some work upstairs, but the time has come. We have 6 months to completely redo two bedrooms and a bathroom. No sweat. Haha.
How far along?
14 Weeks.
Maternity Clothes?
Nope. I stopped buttoning my pants though and use belly bands religiously. My pants still fit and button just fine (although they are a little tight by the end of the day), but I don't HAVE to button them, so I'm not. Haha. I wore a maternity shirt the other day because I needed to do laundry, but it was still big. Still holding on strong. I know I will eventually, but for now I'm happy staying in what I have! (If you want to know bands I'm using, I got these. Well... my mom bought them for me. Haha. I have a white, black, and a navy. I LOVE them. No complaints at all.)

Stretch Marks?
None yet. I thought I saw a hint of some on the 'ole boobskies but they don't seem to be getting worse. I wouldn't be surprised. Those things are growing out of control. I've been experimenting with some things for stretch marks. I tried Vitamin E oil, but it was too sticky for me. I'm trying Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Stretch Oil. My mom found it on Amazon. So far so good. I'm not a HUGE fan of the smell, but it is light enough and doesn't make me break out in hives which is BIG! I'm allergic to everything. My skin is SUPER itchy though so I guess things are moving.

I felt something that I KNOW was real a week or two ago, but nothing since. I feel some bubbles, but nothing as noticeable as the first time. I'm interested to see what it feels like when I can REALLY feel the baby move.

Food cravings?
Still nothing really. Milk, orange juice, etc. I'm kind of over popsicles, but I think I'm just sick of the flavors we have. I was thinking of making my own, with real juice, so I didn't feel so bad. Who knows though.
Nausea, vomiting, or sickness?
Nope. Still thanking my lucky stars for this. Every so often I get a little wave of not feeling good, but it is usually associated with something I ate. Other than that, feeling great!

What I miss:
My waist line. Cute clothes. Shopping isn't as fun. And was cooking last night and I normally add some hard cider or wine to the sauce, but obviously I didn't have any in the house. I remembered I had a hard cider in the fridge from a winery I went to, and I didn't like it... hence why it still remains in the fridge a year later. So I used that. I took a little sip, and OHMYGOD. It wasn't even a GOOD hard cider and it was still delicious. I would KILL for Magners. I know I sound like an alcoholic, and judge away, but I legit forced myself to pour it down the sink. So crisp, so delicious. Do they let you drink in the hospital room after you have the baby? Just one?

Sometimes I get super tired out of nowhere. Sometimes I get out of breath really easy. If that's the worst I get, then I'm fine with that. I know I'm a lucky one and I'm appreciative of every second. I know that it means my kid will be a TERROR and the pregnancy Gods are just going easy on me, but I can take it. At least I can drink when my kid is swinging from the ceiling! Haha. OH! And I went to the skin lady (I don't know what else to call her) with my mom over the weekend so I am FINALLY getting this skin under control. My face was going crazy, but I think we finally found something that works. THANK GOD! Nothing like an expanding waist line AND looking like a pizza-faced teenager!
Best moment this week?
Finally getting started on the process for upstairs. I mean, I know we just have numbers and ideas, but it is more than before. AND finding out that we can afford it (barely), was a HUGE moment. I had been SO nervous. Phew...
Once again... nada. I did a LOT of walking though on my days off and over the weekend. Probably why I was exhausted yesterday and felt like crap. BUT, whatever. Starting to notice the 'ole l-bs go up a little, so I should get moving before it gets out of control!

I could kill Big A. I found a place you can do an elective ultrasound and find out the gender early. For cheap money. And he said there's no point. We can wait. Seriously? I can't wait. I need to PLAN! ASAP. Ugh. I think we find out at our 18 week appointment (I'm going to check next appointment) so that would mean...27 days. Might as well be an eternity!

Fine. Sometimes I wake up to pee. Sometimes I can make it until morning. Sometimes I can sleep in and be fine. It all depends. It is a cruel joke that right before bed I get SO thirsty. Like, mouth dry, been stuck in the desert for a year, thirsty. So, those nights I wake up to pee, ugh. It is hard(er) to wake up for work though. If I could sleep until 9:00-10:00 every day? Then I would be GOLDEN!

What I'm looking forward to?
I have an appointment on Thursday. Just a check up. But I'm looking forward to finding out more about my 18 week appointment to see if they do the gender scan then or if I need to schedule one. If I need to schedule one then maybe I can get it a little earlier since I will be almost 19 weeks at that appointment. (Or maybe I can slip my doc a twenty and she could tell me right then and there...haha)
Time for pictures. Mr. Fresh got in on them this week.
Don't get too excited about that "bump". It is really just all the belly fat I had before that was properly dispersed throughout my whole abdomen, ALL shoved up in one place. My bump isn't even visible unless I am in my birthday suit. It is SO low.
And because I LOVE taking pictures with him...Mr. Fresh wanted in on the picture action too...

Bumpdate: 13 Weeks

September 10th - 16th
So what has been going on this week?
Business as usual, pretty much. It's strange to talk about the baby so much now. I try not to make it ALL I ever talk about, but it is a pretty big thing in my life right now and I somehow always come back to talking about it.
How far along?
13 weeks. (Well.. technically I'm 14 weeks, but I do these a week behind to remember everything that happened)
Maternity Clothes?
None yet. Slowly acquiring a few things here and there for the morning where NOTHING fits. I started wearing the Belly Bands though. Not necessarily because things don't fit (although they are a savior if I'm wearing jeans and out and about all night) but more because they kind of smooth things out a bit.
Stretch Marks?
No more than I had before. I’m hoping I’m one of those rare people who doesn’t really get them. Wishful thinking? Yep. Pipe dream? Probably.

I felt my first flutter at 12 weeks, 6 days on Monday, September 9th. It was unmistakable. It was one of the most bizarre, intense, amazing things I have ever felt. And just the day before I was talking about how I didn't know how I was going to feel when I felt the baby move. I thought I might think it was weird. And it was, but it was great. Haven't felt anything since though. Which is OK since I know it was early. I just think he/she wanted to say hey before our ultrasound so I wouldn't be too worried.

Food cravings?
Milk and popsicles. That's about it.

Nausea, vomiting, or sickness?
No. Thank GOD! I get a bit gaggy if I go too long without eating, but I don't get sick.

 What I miss:
Booze. Of course. I should just leave this for the entire time. Haha. I almost miss being able to talk about something I want or am feeling without everyone thinking it is because I'm pregnant. Want ice cream after dinner? Must be the pregnancy. Tired after a hell day at work. It's the pregnancy. Had a chip? There's that pregnancy again. Oy!

Nothing really. I've been having killer headaches, but I noticed they are on days I don't have caffeine, so I think it is just that. Heartburn hasn't been so bad. I take my pills in the morning just in case and I usually don't have a problem. My allergies have been terrible too. But nothing that bothers me too much!

Best moment this week?
It's pretty much a toss up between feeling the first little flutter and our ultrasound. I mean it was cool to feel the baby, but it was cool to SEE the baby. Especially when it was moving around. That was wild. Isn't Baby P the cutest little thing?
None. I suck. KG and I are going to start walking at lunch, but it has either been super humid or raining, so that's been a no-go.
They gave us a guess. I think we find out for sure on October 21st!

Fine, except that I was talking to Big A about how I was excited I wasn't waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and I've woken up every single night since! One night, it was twice! I try not to drink too much before bed, but that's when I'm the thirstiest. It's a vicious cycle.
What I'm looking forward to?
Finding out what the gender is so I can buy things. We have a pretty good idea, but Big A is putting a stop on buying things until we know for sure. Bah humbug. He's probably right though (don't tell him I told you) because they could be totally wrong. We are getting started on the upstairs though so we can move up there and get the nursery set up. My dad is coming to measure stuff today and the carpet people are coming on Friday to give us an estimate. EEK! I can't wait!
*Oh, and funny story, so the Ultrasound Tech was taking all of the pictures, talking about how cooperative Baby P was and how great the pictures she was taking. That they got everything they needed so easily. Then, she casually mentioned  that Baby P had their legs crossed a little bit. So she walked out, since she can't tell us anything, and about 2 minutes later the doctor walked in. While we were alone, I told Big A I should move around to try and get Baby P to uncross their legs. The doctor came back in and Baby P was UPSIDE DOWN! He said, "I can't tell the gender if the baby is upside down". Ugh. This is totally my kid, sassy already! Luckily, the doc got to take a look anyway, at least enough to give us a guess. We'll see if he is right. *
And the weekly pics. I finally found myself a chalkboard. $20 on clearance at Marshalls. And I got the chalk markers for a STEAL. Both items were super expensive everywhere I went, so I feel like a bargain shoppah!

Friday's Letters

Oh sweet baby Jesus, thank God it's Friday!!!
I woke up this morning with a killer headache. I went to bed last night with one too. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that I went on a bit of a bender last night and got into the Reisling a little too heavy. But, since this is probably the most sober I've been since I was like 16 (sorry Mom) apparently I just have the hangover without the drinking. Ugh.
Anyway... let's get on with Friday's Letters, shall we?
Dear Friday, I was super excited to see that you were still rainy this morning. But now you are clearing up. Bummer. Although, I'm supposed to clean the stupid pool today so we can close it, so I guess that's OK.
Dear Grocery Shopping, I haaaaaaaaate you. Please do yourself. Thanks!
Dear Saturday,  you are super busy. Wah. I guess I shouldn't complain, I always avoid plans on Saturday, I guess it is time to join the real world for a day.
Dear Nail, it kind of bothers me that you would decide to rip 3 days before it is time to get them redone. Like always. So now I will have 9 nice, pretty long nails, and then one weird short one. Why can't you just let me look nice? Hatechu.
Dear Marshalls, you are dangerous. Just a quick trip and $80 later I'm walking out the door. Although, I did get 3 cute sweaters, a skull tumbler, and a gorgeous giant chalkboard for my weekly updates. I probably should have checked the price tags on the sweaters, but when you are feeling chunky and something looks cute, you buy it.
Dear Money, I wish you would just multiply. I know that I'm getting super close to paying off my bills and having more of you, but right now you are still a bit tight. We have a bambino coming. I need more moola.
Dear Big A,  we have the carpet people coming next Friday and a room that you can't walk across. I know you think they can "figure it out" to measure it, but they are probably going to want to be able to actually measure it. PLUS, we need to clean it out anyway. Sooo... let's get on this. And don't say it's a "me" job. I'll punch you.
Dear Pool, peace out cub scout. Hopefully you will be closed this weekend. I will miss you and look forward to spending quality time with you next year (with le babe in tow, I NEED a water baby) but for now I am over you. I just need to figure out a way to allow Mr. Fresh in the pool area without him thinking that he can walk over the pool cover. He doesn't get that there's a giant thing of water under there.
Dear Holiday Decorations That I Got on Woah Clearance Last Year, I can't wait to put you up in our house! I waited ever so patiently for the holidays to pass and bought you for a STEAL, and now it is time to put you up! Yay! I already saw some cute things that I can't wait to buy when they are on clearance this year. I don't pay full price for things. Sorry. You will be pretty in the house next year.
Dear Upstairs, for almost a year we have neglected you. Honestly, we use you to throw random crap in when we don't know where to put it and if one of us is in the bathroom downstairs and we can't wait. Or the 4 times a year I actually do my hair (since the bathroom downstairs doesn't have electrical outlets, whaaaaat?!) So it is going to be weird actually using you. And having to walk downstairs in the morning. Although it will end the whole "I have a second room to get dressed in, in the morning so I don't have to turn the lights in the bedroom on". Sorry Big A. But then again, you will be up with a baby too, so maybe you will already be awake. Hehehehe.
Dear Baby P, (eek! Your Friday's Letters DEBUT!!!) I can't wait to find out what you are. Your Papa and I pretty much have your name set (we think) for either gender, so now we just need to know. Well...we know...but the doctor said we should wait until the gender scan to announce even though he was pretty sure, and your Papa agreed so I'm not allowed to buy you anything yet or refer to you as a specific gender. Although I have been calling you by your gangster nickname that I came up with. Haha. BUT, we are super excited, so make sure you cooperate more this time. No shenanigans. 39 days!!! EEK!!!
Dear People, I appreciate your advice and caring. I do. I know that it I (mostly) comes from a good place. However, I am so sick of the back-handed judgment or jealousy or whatever it is. Honestly, I have no control over how I feel or how this pregnancy affects me. I do not control the morning sickness, or tiredness, or weight gain, or what my body looks like. I know I have been super lucky, but please don't think that I didn't have my hell times as well. And it ain't over yet. And don't worry, I'm sure that the only reason that I'm having such a good time is that my kid is going to be the devil incarnate. Freaking adorable, but between its father and I's childhood behavior, we are kind of screwed in the karma department. I'm sorry you are so sick and tired and your back hurt and your pants didn't fit so early. I feel for you, I do. But being a brat to me about something I have NO control over, not only isn't cool, but also makes me not want to talk to you. Let's just remember that we are all women and soon to be Mothers and we are all in this crazy thing together. Let's support, not judge. Oh and the "just you wait" comments, can stop too. I know you're (half) joking, but my kid isn't yours and I'm not you. Tell me about all the great things about being a Mom. I'm sure I'll figure out the pitfalls on my own. *Steps off soap box*
Dear Nursery, you are going to be so freaking cute I can't even stand it. I can get started on the base work since the carpet and walls are going to be the same regardless. The accent colors will obviously depend on the gender. I picked out the crib, we already have a changing table and dresser (thanks Mom!!!) that just need to be painted. Oh! I can't wait. You will probably be the most perfect room in the house. And the first to be fully complete. Haha.
And that's all for today. Reminder, don't forget to enter my Diamond Candle Giveaway! I promise that these candles will NOT disappoint.

Our First Anniversary

Sunday, September 8th, marked one year from when I walked down that aisle and said "I do" to the most amazing man I've ever met.
It was seriously one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. And I still miss that day so much. Not the stress, or the planning (or the money), but just how amazing that day felt. I wish we could do it all over again!
I can't believe how fast a year went by. I feel like I blinked and here we are. It's been quite the busy year. We bought a house, fixed it up a little, had countless memories and firsts there, and oh yeah... we're having a baby too. People always say to us, "Wow, you guys didn't waste any time, huh?"
And well... on the one hand, they are right. I mean, we found our house (pretty much by accident, who knew they were actually going to accept our offer) a month after our wedding. Three months after our wedding, it was ours. THAT was quick.
As for the bambino...well...yeah... we have only been married for a year, but we have been together for almost seven. So, it isn't like we rushed into everything. We were together for two and a half years before we lived together. Together four years before we got engaged. Together almost five and a half years before we got married. We took our time. Now it's time to get moving! Haha. But seriously, I'm almost 28, Big A is 30 (dun dun duuuuun) and why the hell not? Ya know.
Anyway... Sunday morning I woke up earlier than Big A (surprise, surprise). I decided to make him a little surprise since I knew that he had some things to do before the football game, so I knew his plan of going to breakfast wasn't going to work. So I made blueberry streusel muffins. And while I was looking around for the muffin tin, I found my heart shaped tin and figured, why the hell not! Haha
While the muffins were baking, I decided to give Big A another little treat. I begged and begged him to put up this collage frame (that matched the one that has all of our engagement pictures in it) and then it has pretty much just sat there with the original pictures of random strangers in it for a good seven months! Haha. He HATED it and kept threatening to take it down. SO, I broke out the wedding pictures and finally put them in!

Except, a certain Border Collie who thinks that he is a little tiny baby and wants to sit in my lap all the time walked ACROSS it when I had JUST finished and broke one of the pieces of glass. This thing has sat forever, I finally do it, and it breaks. Ugh. I know I can find another piece of glass, but for now I just stare at the broken glass and get annoyed.
After breakfast, Big A went out to run a couple errands and then we met up with our friends that we watch the football game with. It was a gorgeous day out and it was so much fun to see everyone. Except for it sucked to be pretty much the only one there that wasn't drinking. (Except for the other pregnant girl there, but she doesn't seem to mind not drinking. Nothing makes you feel more like an alcoholic than foaming at the mouth for a nice, frosty Coors, and someone else going, "meh, I don't have a problem with it" haha)

Big A brought me home beautiful roses like he always does. He's such a good boy. Anniversary, Valentine's Day, my Birthday, I ALWAYS get flowers. They smelled SO good.
After the football game, we took a trek out to the bakery where we got our wedding cake. Our wedding venue threw away the top of our wedding cake. I was really upset. I didn't think I cared about the tradition (and actually thought it was kind of gross) until they took away that option. I thought it was rude. So, I called our bakery to ask them if I could order another one and it turns out that they do one free for your anniversary. The only thing was that it was a pretty generic cake, they didn't decorate it like our wedding cake. It was still pretty and still tasty!

We got home and then headed out to our favorite restaurant, Dino's. They have THE most amazing lobster ravioli I have EVER tasted. And they give you big chunks of lobster on top. My FAVORITE. I've been dying for it forever and it did not disappoint. They bring you fresh bruschetta when you sit down and we ordered shrimp cocktail as well for a little treat. Delish. I also had a tiny, little bit of champagne (judge away) which was delicious as well.
We came home, stuffed, rested for a little, and then had our cake. I made Big A cut it with me like we did at our wedding! It was silly, but fun. (Then I looked at our wedding pictures and saw how skinny I was and thought of how fat I'll get and then cried a little into my cake...I kid...but damn was I skinny!!!)
All in all, it was a great day.  Even if we completely forgot to give each other our cards until like, 11 at night, right when we were about to go to bed. Haha. I guess we were having too much fun!
I told Big A that we had such an amazing first year and I didn't know how we were going to top it for our second year. Then he reminded me that we are having a baby and that the second year was pretty much a shoe-in. Haha. I guess he's right!
It was an absolutely perfect day (couldn't have asked for better weather, now if only we had that kind of weather on our wedding day rather than all that rain!) and I am so excited to see what the next fifty, sixty, maybe even seventy years, has in store for us!

Bumpdate: 12 Weeks

September 3rd - 9th, 2013
So what has been going on this week?
Nothing crazy. Still loving feeling human again and actually being able to get things done. Thursday I killed it at work, got a bunch of stuff done at home, and then made an amazing meal with fresh tomatoes from our garden, I felt like a rockstar. Which isn't hard when you spent weeks sleeping on the couch because now everything I do seems amazing! Haha.
How far along?
12 Weeks.
Maternity Clothes?
Nope. My pants are sometimes a bit tight by the end of the day. But it is rare that I'm still in jeans or work pants by 9 or 10 at night, so I don't really notice it too much. My buttoning days are numbered though it seems. Good thing Mama bought me a bagillion Belly Bands. I feel like those things will be my best friends.
Stretch Marks?
No more than I had before. I’m hoping I’m one of those rare people who doesn’t really get them. Wishful thinking? Yep. Pipe dream? Probably. Looking into some lotion though. Any suggestions?
Too early.
Food cravings?
I discovered popsicles this week. Oh man. They were exactly what I've been looking for. I have been craving fruits, veggies, milk, and cold things. So cold, fruit flavored things? Amazing. I've been averaging 2-3 a night. EEK!
Nausea, vomiting, or sickness?
Nope. Thank god! I realize I've been lucky with this. Although, I have noticed that if I go too long without eating I start gagging. Which is weird, because I don't feel hungry yet, but I know that it's coming.
What I miss:
We went to watch the football game with everyone yesterday and it sucked not being able to drink. I'll admit it. And while I feel like an alcoholic complaining about wanting to drink all the time, I think it is more that I "can't". Tell me I can't do something and it is ALL I want to do! Haha.
The whole gaggy thing when I'm hungry. Heartburn is a mofo. Other than that, I've been pretty good. I was even told I've been nicer than usual lately. I told them not to get used to it.
Best moment this week?
Making it to 12 weeks. I know the doctor told me at my 10 weeks that we were good, but there's something about making it to 12 weeks that just makes you let out a sigh of relief. AND our countdown to the next ultrasound that we have at 13 weeks. They are doing the Nuchal Translucency Screening which to be honest we are kind of only doing to get another peek. I mean, the peace of mind will be nice, but we just wanted to see the little nugget again. (AND I've been hearing stories that sometimes they can have an idea of the gender?!?! Anyone have experience with this? I can't wait any longer!!!)
I should probably just delete this one. Haha.
Too early to tell. I want to knooooooow.
Fine. I don't really wake up to pee anymore which is nice. I just can't sleep in late without needing to go. I find I feel my best when I can sleep until like 9, but that's only 2 days a week! Haha.
What I'm looking forward to?
Our ultrasound next week!
Linking up with Kristin (for the first time!!!) over at Busy Bee!!!

Diamond Candle Review and Giveaway

A little while back, someone from Diamond Candles contacted me about doing a review and a giveaway on my blog.
What are Diamond Candles? They are an all-natural soy candle with a surprise ring in every one. Their website says:
" We are so glad you are here! If you don't know much about us yet we have real rings worth $10, $100, $1,000, or $5,000 in every single earth friendly, all natural soy candle that we make.
The combination of highly fragrant premium quality soy candles, an exciting and fun 'ring reveal' experience (what ring will you find?), and a ring to wear for months and years to come means making something as boring as burning candles in your home something to look forward to. "
As a lover of free stuff AND candles, I knew that this was meant to be. I searched and searched the website for the perfect scent and knew that I wanted something Fall-ish.
I'm a huge fan of Cinnamon candles, so I knew I had to get the Cinnamon Tea. (Although now I see an Apple Slices one that I want too...)
I remember when I was younger I got a candle that had a special prize in it and I LOVED it. You could get jewelry, or money, or a toy. It was so much fun to wait to see. Except for the fact that the prize was down at the bottom of the candle so it took FOREVER.
Anyway... so I ordered up my candle and within a week it was at my doorstep (I ordered right before a weekend). I was super excited to open it up and light that baby.
I was also impressed with the fact that their packaging was all made from recycled materials. I mean, I should have figured with the whole "all natural" thing, but it is still nice to see that some people still try and preserve the environment.
My candle. The top right picture shows where the ring it. It's the gold thing.
I couldn't wait to light it because I've been super sensitive to smells lately (Thanks Baby P). It's been so bad that I can smell the toilet water from down the hallway. Or the trash from in the bedroom. So while I was a little nervous that this smell might bother me, I was more excited to get something in the house that didn't smell gross.
It is not disappoint. The smell was DELICIOUS. Actually, one of Big A's friends came over and actually commented on the smell. So you know it has to be good.
It took a few long days for me to burn it down enough to get the ring (well... enough to dig it out with a skewer and wasn't ready to come out on it's own). I was dying to see which ring I got.
It wasn't one of the real gold, expensive ones, but it was definitely my style. I thought it was beautiful. I loved the suspense of waiting to find out what it was. I want to buy like 10 more to see what I get! Haha.
I'm a huge fan of nice, smelly things, especially living in a house with a dog and mechanic. Things definitely get smelly, and it isn't usually good. So I NEED candles to save me.
And NOW, you can have one too! Enter below to win your own Diamond Candle! I promise, it will NOT disappoint!
